"I could change today," he said to me
As one more drop of water hit his pool;
"I'm strong and have control of whom I'll be,
To warn me of my path, you call me fool."
And so he lived each day with his mind free
Of consequences that would come tomorrow;
The water in his pool soon reached his knees,
He filled the lives of those he loved with sorrow
On this sad day he's seen whom he's become,
The water in his pool now rubs his neck;
Repentant, he recounts the things he's done,
He tries to drain what's made his life a wreck.
The plug of his pool's sealed by tons of weight
And now he's left to drown in his own fate.
