ZEITGEIST

Let's deny the zeitgeist of today 
And assume that we're OK
Push aside what we find distressing
Make our lives a bit less depressing 

Let's condemn the zeitgeist of today 
Everything is not OK
Lack of peace and love makes me angry 
Let's denounce all those to blame

I'm progressing through newfound emotions
And I feel discomfort through this process
Things don't make sense and I question 
How our milieu lost its reason
Who can trust the facts and figures
Neutral sources now elude us 
Dogma over truth
I do despair

Let's attack the zeitgeist of today 
Fight for right 'til all's OK
Eyes for eyes might make us feel better
Justice over mercy and favor

Let's accept the zeitgeist of today 
Find a way to be OK
Let's be beacons in this bleak darkness
Show respect and also forgive
